Job Description
Snowbird is a renowned resort located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Known for its breathtaking views and impressive mountainous terrain, Snowbird is a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year. The resort operates distinct summer and winter seasons, giving guests a wide range of activities to enjoy, from skiing and snowboarding in the winter to hiking and festivals in the summer. Snowbird is dedicated to creating a memorable experience for all visitors, which is why it places a significant emphasis on hiring dedicated employees who share a genuine passion for the mountains and the great outdoors. The resort offers diverse employment opportunities including full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions to cater to a variety of applicants interested in working in this beautiful mountain environment. Snowbird fosters an inclusive and dynamic workplace that values diversity in thought, background, race, sexual orientation, gender, and belief, promoting equality and respect among its staff. The resort is also committed to maintaining high professional standards, requiring all employees to complete background checks and adhere to strict guidelines regarding appearance, conduct, and substance use. The available position is for an Oktoberfest Parking Attendant, a part-time seasonal role based at the Snowbird resort. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $18 and requires availability mainly on weekends and Labor Day, from early August through mid-October. The shifts typically run from 9 AM to 5 PM but may vary depending on business needs. The role is crucial in managing parking operations during the busy Oktoberfest event at Snowbird, ensuring that parking lots are organized, safe, and effectively utilized to accommodate the influx of guests. Oktoberfest Parking Attendants play a vital role in maintaining smooth traffic flow and providing positive guest interactions throughout the resort. They are responsible for directing vehicles to appropriate parking areas, expediting traffic movements safely, and addressing guest inquiries with professionalism and helpfulness. As part of their duties, attendants also handle point-of-sale transactions for parking, verifying parking passes and credentials, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of all transactions since cash payments are not accepted onsite. Effective communication using two-way radios and collaborating closely with supervisors and coworkers are also key aspects of this position. The role demands working outdoors under varying weather conditions, requiring physical stamina including lifting up to 25 pounds and the ability to stand for long periods. Candidates must demonstrate basic literacy and numeracy skills, as well as interpersonal communication, to interact professionally with guests and colleagues. This seasonal opportunity provides a unique chance to gain experience in guest services at a top mountain resort while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the Oktoberfest celebration. Snowbird invites those who love the outdoors and thrive in an active, customer-focused role to apply and join their team, where they will benefit from a welcoming work environment, competitive pay, and the chance to be part of a historically significant mountain community.
