Job Description

Snowbird is a renowned resort located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Known for its breathtaking views and challenging terrain, this unique destination offers exceptional experiences across distinct summer and winter seasons. Snowbird employs a diverse team of passionate individuals who share a love for the mountains and the outdoors, offering full-time, part-time, and seasonal employment opportunities to suit a variety of lifestyles and career goals.

One of the seasonal highlights at Snowbird is the Oktoberfest Festival, a vibrant and much-anticipated event held annually from mid-August through mid-October. It draws thousands of guests to celebrate with live entertainment, authentic cuisine, family-friendly activities, and an impressive selection of world-class brews. The festival atmosphere is rich with tradition and community spirit, making it an exciting and dynamic place to work.

The role of Oktoberfest Festival Server (21+) is a part-time, seasonal position that plays a central part in creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for all attendees. As a Festival Server, you'll be responsible for delivering outstanding food and beverage service, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and upholding Snowbird's high standards of professionalism. The position requires working weekends including Labor Day weekend, with shifts approximately from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

This role is ideal for individuals who are highly motivated, enjoy working in fast-paced environments, and excel at customer service. You will be expected to interact with guests by serving food and beverages, responsibly handling alcohol service according to the Responsible Alcohol Service Policy (RASP), operating point-of-sale systems, assisting with food service stations, and maintaining cleanliness in the venue. You will also support event setup and teardown activities and work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth event operations.

Candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess strong communication skills (with proficiency in English), and demonstrate a positive attitude with teamwork capabilities. Previous hospitality or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Additionally, obtaining a Food Handler Permit and Alcohol Service Certification by the training date (August 1 or 2) is mandatory. The position demands physical stamina as it involves standing for extended periods, lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds, and working in an outdoor mountain environment with variable weather conditions.

Uniform guidelines include wearing black pants or fingertip-length black shorts without rips or athletic wear, closed-toe comfortable shoes with black socks, and Snowbird-provided shirt, apron, hat, and name tag. Weather-appropriate outerwear is recommended to ensure comfort during shifts. Snowbird prides itself on a fun, team-oriented work environment where employees enjoy competitive hourly pay plus tips, along with discounts on dining, retail, lodging, and daycare.

Joining the Oktoberfest Festival team means becoming part of a well-known, high-energy community event that celebrates tradition and creates unforgettable guest experiences. This position offers a unique opportunity to work amidst the beauty of Utah's mountains while contributing to a beloved cultural festival. Snowbird values diversity, inclusivity, and professionalism, ensuring a respectful and supportive workplace for all employees. If you have a passion for hospitality and the outdoors, and desire a seasonal role that is both rewarding and lively, apply today to join Snowbird’s Oktoberfest Festival Server team!
