With operations spanning highways, bridges, construction, and maintenance, ADOT plays a crucial role in supporting economic development and public safety, making it a cornerstone institution within Arizona's government system. The department offers a dynamic work culture emphasizing flexibility, autonomy, and trust, including robust opportunities for remote work within the state, designed to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity while maintaining high performance standards. ADOT offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits, making it an attractive workplace for professionals passionate about public service and transportation safety.

The role requires analyzing contracts and specifications for safety compliance, leading safety committees, and communicating risks effectively to ensure all employees are informed and equipped to work safely. Candidates with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent experience are preferred, with certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) providing a competitive advantage. The position commands a salary range between $67,297.47 and $77,297.47, with an anticipated salary of $72,297.47, reflecting the responsibility and specialized expertise required.

Joining ADOT as an Occupational Safety Consultant means becoming part of an organization that values employee well-being through comprehensive benefits including health and dental insurance, paid parental leave, retirement plans, and various optional insurance programs. The department's progressive approach to flexible scheduling and remote work underscores its commitment to work-life balance. This comprehensive role offers a meaningful opportunity for professionals to apply their safety expertise in a diverse and impactful public sector environment, helping to safeguard the workforce and the public at large.
