Job Description

Banner Health is one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the United States, known for its stability, commitment to quality care, and strong organizational values. With a rich history spanning over 100 years, Banner Health has established itself as a leader in healthcare across multiple states, including Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Kansas. The North Colorado Medical Center, a key facility within this health system, is a 378-bed Level II trauma center and acute care hospital located in Greeley, Colorado. This hospital serves as a regional medical hub providing a comprehensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including medical, pediatric, obstetric, orthopedic, surgical, heart, cancer, and critical care specialties. The facility boasts over 3,000 dedicated employees and offers state-of-the-art technology, exceptional patient care, and innovative treatment solutions.

Joining Banner Health means becoming part of a compassionate, cutting-edge healthcare organization that is deeply invested in its community. The North Colorado Medical Center not only meets high standards for patient care but also engages actively with the community it serves, offering specialized programs such as the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, one of the top cancer diagnosis and treatment facilities in Northern Colorado. The facility provides a supportive, collaborative environment where healthcare professionals can thrive and make a significant impact on patient outcomes.

The Nutrition Manager role at Banner Health's North Colorado Medical Center offers a unique opportunity to lead the culinary and nutrition services within the hospital’s Food Service Department. This full-time position primarily follows a Monday through Friday daytime schedule with occasional flexibility for evenings, weekends, and nights based on operational needs. The Nutrition Manager will oversee the Room Service and Patient Services teams, guiding daily operations to ensure high-quality meal delivery that meets patient needs and regulatory standards.

The Nutrition Manager plays a critical leadership role by planning and directing food production, catering, retail, and patient meal service operations while adhering to County, State, and JCAHO (Joint Commission) regulations. This role is responsible for managing labor, food, and supply resources efficiently to meet the organization’s financial objectives and uphold service excellence. Key responsibilities also include staff recruitment, training, and development, ensuring employees maintain competency and comply with hospital safety and regulatory guidelines such as OSHA.

Working collaboratively with clinical nutrition teams, physicians, and other hospital departments, the Nutrition Manager ensures that meal services align with patient care goals and satisfaction standards. This position demands a leader who can combine operational oversight with compassion and innovation to enhance the patient experience. The role involves budget oversight and resource management across various food service operations and stepping into the Food Service Director role when needed.

Candidates will ideally have a degree in Nutrition or a related field, or equivalent leadership experience in a nutrition or food service environment, combined with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Technical competencies include familiarity with electronic medical records, Infogenesis, and CBORD applications. Bilingual skills in Spanish and English and SERVESAFE certification are advantageous.

Estimated pay ranges from $27.78 to $46.20 per hour, reflecting factors like experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency and offers a robust benefits package designed to support employees' well-being and professional growth. This position supports Banner Health’s mission to lead healthcare into the future through excellence, integrity, and teamwork.
