We are currently seeking a full-time Food Service Worker to join our Nutrition Services team at American Fork Hospital. This position involves performing a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. The Food Service Worker will play a vital role in supporting patient care by assembling and delivering meal trays, handling cashier tasks, food assembly, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness across the facility. This position is scheduled for 32 hours per week and offers variable shifts between 6:30 am to 8 pm, including weekend and holiday coverage on a rotating basis.

The pay rate for this role ranges from $17.68 to $22.99 per hour, depending on the candidate’s experience. As a part of Intermountain Health, the successful candidate will be eligible for an attractive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, and education assistance.

The Food Service Worker will be responsible for delivering patient meal trays promptly and according to system standards, preparing food items such as salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit by following standardized recipes, and adhering to Nutrition Services practices to maintain an excellent dining experience. Responsibilities also include performing housekeeping functions such as cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and kitchen equipment to adhere to safety and hygiene standards.

This role requires active customer interaction, both in delivering excellent guest service and managing cash or credit transactions accurately. Employees must communicate clearly, coordinate efficiently with team members, and maintain high attention to detail to ensure patient needs and dietary requirements are met. The position demands physical stamina, including standing for long periods, lifting and carrying equipment of varying weights, manual dexterity, and the ability to work in environments with temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals. Candidates must have a Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by the first day of work and preferably have experience or familiarity with modified diets and patient-centered service.
