The Nursing Assistant (CNA, NA) role at UW Health is a vital position within their Inpatient Float Pool, offering an opportunity for experienced nursing assistants to expand their skill set across various units such as General Care, Intermediate Care, ICU, and Critical Care. This role is designed to support registered nurses by providing direct patient care and performing basic nursing procedures according to established hospital policies. Nursing Assistants are instrumental in assisting with activities of daily living including patient repositioning, transfers, mobility support, and intentional rounding to ensure optimal patient comfort and safety. Their interaction with patients, families, and visitors is fundamental in establishing trust and ensuring a high standard of care.

This particular position features variable 8- and 12-hour shifts covering day, evening, and night schedules, thus promoting work-life balance through flexibility. Shift times range from early morning to overnight hours, and candidates should be prepared for rotating holidays and every other weekend work.
