As a faith-based, nonprofit health system, CHRISTUS Health emphasizes patient-centered care that blends advanced medical technology with a commitment to serving the spiritual and physical needs of its patients. The network includes hospitals, clinics, and specialty care centers such as CHRISTUS Abdominal Specialists, which focuses on providing expert medical and surgical care in abdominal health. By fostering an environment conducive to professional growth and interdisciplinary collaboration, CHRISTUS Health continuously strives to enhance patient outcomes and community health standards. The organization is recognized for supporting healthcare professionals with resources, state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities for ongoing education, thus attracting top talent dedicated to making a positive impact in healthcare.
The role offered is for a Full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) at CHRISTUS Abdominal Specialists. This advanced practice clinician will play an integral role in delivering medical and surgical services to patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary health care team. The NP or PA will be responsible for comprehensive patient care that spans assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Key duties include conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and providing patient education on preventative care and treatment plans. The position is designed for professionals who demonstrate a deep understanding of advanced practice nursing or physician assistant statutes and protocol, and who can independently operate within the scope of their practice while engaging in collaborative care when needed.
The role requires a proactive approach to health promotion, disease prevention, and rehabilitative care, with a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development. The candidate will be expected to use critical thinking to individualize care plans that promote well-being and address complex health issues effectively. Furthermore, the incumbent will engage in educational activities, teach other healthcare professionals, participate in clinical research, and maintain rigorous standards of documentation and regulatory compliance. This is a rewarding opportunity for a medical professional passionate about providing high-quality patient care in a supportive and innovative healthcare environment. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package and a work schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, supporting work-life balance in a picturesque location overlooking Corpus Christi Bay.
