The Nurse Manager of Critical Care ICU at Methodist Hospital plays a pivotal leadership role within a dynamic and dedicated healthcare team. Reporting directly to the Director, Vice President, and/or Chief Nursing Officer, the Nurse Manager oversees the delivery of high-quality, efficient patient care for a designated group of critically ill patients throughout their hospitalization. This role encompasses 24-hour responsibility for staffing and managing patient care units, promoting professional nursing practices, and optimizing resource utilization—both human and material—to meet patient and organizational needs effectively.

The Nurse Manager is instrumental in fostering a cohesive, high-functioning team by providing direction and leadership in staffing decisions aligned with organizational goals and patient acuity. This includes managing personnel through interviewing, orientation, staff development, performance evaluation, and motivation to ensure peak performance and the fulfillment of unit productivity targets. The incumbent ensures patient care standards comply with internal policies of the unit, department, and hospital, as well as adhere to external regulatory requirements such as those from The Joint Commission, Medicare, and OSHA.
