Job Description
Fogo de Chao is a renowned fine dining Brazilian steakhouse specializing in the traditional culinary art of Churrasco, which involves the premium Brazilian style of grilling meats. With locations including Naperville, IL, this respected restaurant group prides itself on delivering an unforgettable dining experience that combines exceptional service with a lively and engaging atmosphere. Fogo de Chao emphasizes a culture of warmth, hospitality, and passion, striving to ignite a spirit of joy and care not only for their guests but also for their employees and the surrounding communities. This dedication to excellence and genuine care has made Fogo de Chao a cherished destination for those seeking upscale Brazilian cuisine and an immersive dining adventure.
The Server role at Fogo de Chao is a full-time position that plays a pivotal part in maintaining the high standard diners expect at this establishment. As a Server, you will be the primary point of contact for guests, responsible for delivering a seamless and educational dining experience centered around the continuous tableside serving concept unique to Churrasco. This role requires a strong knowledge of the menu preparation methods, particularly the variety of meats and service styles that define Fogo de Chao's culinary signature. The Server must skillfully communicate guest preferences and special requests to the Churrasqueiros (grill chefs) to ensure each plate meets the desired satisfaction.
In addition to taking and serving beverage and dessert orders, Servers are expected to liaise effectively with other restaurant staff, including cashiers for order processing and payment handling. Collaboration within the team is essential, and Servers are encouraged to assist colleagues during busy periods to maintain smooth operations. Responsibilities also extend to beginning and closing shift duties, ensuring that the venue is prepared and maintained to Fogo de Chao’s exacting standards.
The company values work-life balance and offers flexible schedules; however, availability on weekends and holidays is required as these are peak times. The role comes with competitive compensation, and more importantly, a comprehensive benefits package for full-time team members. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance available starting the first month after 60 days of employment, company-paid life insurance, and short-term disability coverage where applicable. Fogo de Chao also provides a voluntary benefits package that includes critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident coverage, permanent life insurance, and pet insurance options. Part-time team members are offered a minimum essential coverage (MEC) health plan plus dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, along with access to voluntary benefits such as pet insurance, legal services, and identity protection.
Joining Fogo de Chao as a Server is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, passionate team where professional growth and personal development are encouraged at every level. If you are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys providing outstanding guest service, and wants to be part of a community-focused and culinary-driven company, this position offers a promising career path. Fogo de Chao believes in empowering its employees through training, support, and advancement opportunities, ensuring that each team member can build a fulfilling and rewarding career within the hospitality industry.
