Job Description

TouchPoint Support Services is a respected provider of hospitality services within Ascension Health hospitals across the United States. As a dedicated extension of Compass Healthcare, TouchPoint shares a deep commitment to compassion, quality, and excellence in serving patients, families, and visitors in a hospital environment. Known for creating meaningful experiences that contribute directly to the healing process, TouchPoint supports various facets of hospital operations including patient meals, facility maintenance, and overall patient support. The company’s mission is to cultivate an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging while empowering associates to grow professionally and contribute meaningfully to the community. This mission aligns with the broader goals of Ascension Health to improve the health of the poor and vulnerable populations through excellent service and care.

The Patient Server role at TouchPoint Support Services is integral to ensuring a positive patient experience through dedicated food service support on assigned hospital units. This position offers both full-time and part-time schedules, with shifts from 6:45 AM to 6:45 PM, three days per week including rotating weekends and holidays. The pay range for this role is $15.00 to $16.00 per hour, reflecting the valuable contribution a Patient Server makes in the healthcare setting. Candidates can apply exclusively online as part of an ongoing recruitment process.

As a Patient Server, the primary responsibility is to manage patient food service in compliance with dietary restrictions, ensuring patients receive meals that align with their medical prescriptions, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences. This involves taking menu selections from patients with kindness and attentiveness, assembling trays accurately, delivering and retrieving trays efficiently, and handling special requests carefully. The role requires effective communication and collaboration with nursing staff to confirm diet prescriptions and update patient information regularly.

This position demands adherence to strict health, safety, and sanitation protocols, including following HACCP guidelines for food quality and safety and complying with HIPAA policies for patient confidentiality. The Patient Server also assists dietitians by monitoring patients on special diets such as NPO (nothing by mouth), liquid diets, or calorie counts.

The role requires proficiency with hospital computer systems and safety-conscious use of equipment and cleaning chemicals, following all recommended guidelines for safety and infection control. The commitment to patient satisfaction and quality service is paramount, as is maintaining current knowledge of food service standards and completing necessary reports accurately and within deadlines.

Working at TouchPoint means being part of a supportive team that values fun, growth, and mutual respect. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package to associates, promoting well-being both professionally and personally. Full-time associates have access to medical, dental, life insurance, disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, and employee assistance programs, among other benefits. Both full and part-time staff can participate in retirement plans and various voluntary benefits, including critical illness insurance, accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, legal services, and auto/home insurance programs.

TouchPoint is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a fair and inclusive hiring process. The company values diverse backgrounds and experiences, fostering a welcoming workplace where every associate can thrive. Certain roles may require additional background screenings based on regional regulations, ensuring a safe and secure working environment for all.

In summary, the Patient Server role at TouchPoint Support Services offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute directly to patient care by delivering compassionate, detail-oriented food services in a respected healthcare organization. With flexible scheduling options, competitive compensation, and a supportive work culture, this position is ideal for individuals passionate about serving others in a healthcare hospitality setting.
