The role advertised is for a Non-CDL Delivery Driver position within the US Foods team, offering a unique opportunity to build a meaningful career with an industry leader. As a Non-CDL Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the prompt and accurate delivery of foodservice products to various locations. The job entails frequent lifting, loading, and unloading of delivery vehicles, managing multiple delivery stops while maintaining rigorous safety and food handling standards throughout the route. You will operate assigned vehicles to transport deliveries, utilize hand trucks for product movement, and ensure all delivery information is accurately recorded using technology such as hand scanners. Attention to detail in verifying invoices, processing paperwork, handling returns, and collecting customer payments will be essential.

In this role, communication skills are critical, as drivers must liaise effectively with customer service, transportation supervisors, and territory managers to resolve any delivery issues. The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and maintain safety protocols to protect product integrity. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required
  • No more than two convictions for traffic violations in the past two years
  • No DUI convictions in the past three years
  • No driver’s license suspensions in the past three years
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical
  • No commercial or professional driving experience required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background check
  • Able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Basic arithmetic skills
  • Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities
  • Use safe lifting and loading techniques
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking
  • Must demonstrate defensive driving
  • No termination for safety violations or accident involvement from previous employer

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with proper endorsements if required
  • Ability to pass DOT physical
  • One year of multi-stop delivery experience preferred or six months local delivery and/or foodservice industry experience
  • Hand cart delivery experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English for job and safety regulations
  • Basic math skills including add, subtract, multiply, divide
  • Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities
  • Great interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays and overtime
  • Demonstrated defensive driving techniques
  • Familiarity with building customer loyalty, managing work, adaptability, building trust, follow-up, and communication competencies

Job Duties

  • Lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis
  • Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries
  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles
  • Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location including going up and down stairs with product as necessary
  • Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation
  • Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product
  • Communicate delivery-customer issues to proper authority
  • Deliver product to each of the designated stops following the stop sequence provided for the day
  • Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer
  • Check invoice for complete delivery
  • Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any
  • Collect payments if necessary
  • Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle consistently
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash, and replenishing fuel
  • Other duties as assigned
