Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required
- No more than two convictions for traffic violations in the past two years
- No DUI convictions in the past three years
- No driver’s license suspensions in the past three years
- Must be able to pass DOT physical
- No commercial or professional driving experience required
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background check
- Able to read, write and communicate in English
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities
- Use safe lifting and loading techniques
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking
- Must demonstrate defensive driving
- No termination for safety violations or accident involvement from previous employer
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with proper endorsements if required
- Ability to pass DOT physical
- One year of multi-stop delivery experience preferred or six months local delivery and/or foodservice industry experience
- Hand cart delivery experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English for job and safety regulations
- Basic math skills including add, subtract, multiply, divide
- Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities
- Great interpersonal and customer service skills
- Availability to work weekends, holidays and overtime
- Demonstrated defensive driving techniques
- Familiarity with building customer loyalty, managing work, adaptability, building trust, follow-up, and communication competencies
Job Duties
- Lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis
- Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries
- Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles
- Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location including going up and down stairs with product as necessary
- Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation
- Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product
- Communicate delivery-customer issues to proper authority
- Deliver product to each of the designated stops following the stop sequence provided for the day
- Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer
- Check invoice for complete delivery
- Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any
- Collect payments if necessary
- Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle consistently
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash, and replenishing fuel
- Other duties as assigned
