Job Description
TransForce is a leading transportation staffing company that specializes in connecting qualified drivers with reputable clients across North America. Established with a commitment to driver satisfaction and career growth, TransForce has built a strong reputation in the logistics industry by offering reliable job opportunities and comprehensive support for professional drivers. The company focuses on a wide range of delivery and transportation assignments, providing flexibility and competitive compensation to meet the diverse needs of its workforce.
The current opening is for a Non-CDL Box Truck Driver position based in Chelsea, Massachusetts. This role supports local delivery operations primarily involving the transportation of refrigerated food products. The position is a temp-to-hire assignment, offering steady work, reliable scheduling, and the chance to join a driver-focused team that values safety and professionalism. Drivers will operate a 26-foot refrigerated box truck to deliver high-quality items such as produce, specialty foods, meats, dairy products, and chef-prepped Fresh Cuts. Delivery locations include commercial businesses, restaurants, schools, office buildings, and markets throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, including Cape Cod, Portland, and surrounding areas as needed.
This job provides a Monday through Saturday schedule, typically working five days a week with one day off midweek, though occasional six-day weeks may be required. The start time is early at 5:00 AM, with average shifts lasting about 10 hours per day. Compensation is competitive at $20 per hour, with overtime pay kicking in after 40 hours of work. Additionally, employees who convert from temp to permanent status become eligible for weekly safety and attendance bonuses. This role requires a driver to have at least one year of recent, relevant box truck driving experience, with a preference for those familiar with operating 26-foot box trucks.
The role entails physical duties such as using hand carts or pallet jacks to assist with deliveries, moving products up and down stairs when necessary, and completing thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Drivers must maintain accurate logs and paperwork while communicating effectively with dispatch and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery processes.
TransForce values a clean motor vehicle record from its drivers, requiring no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last three years. This role combines important safety standards with the rewarding experience of delivering essential food products to communities and businesses. The company supports its employees with a strong benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) retirement plan, and a referral program to encourage team growth and employee engagement.
Choosing to work with TransForce means joining a respected company dedicated to driver well-being, steady employment, and a supportive team environment. The position offers a valuable opportunity for qualified drivers seeking local delivery routes with a reputable staffing company that prioritizes driver satisfaction and career advancement.
