Job Description
Eastburn Public House is a renowned Pacific Northwest Gastro Pub located in the vibrant city of Portland. Known for its warm and inviting atmosphere, Eastburn offers an exceptional dining experience influenced by the rich culinary traditions of the Pacific Northwest. As a family-run business, Eastburn Public House emphasizes creating a positive work environment and promoting a healthy work-life balance for its employees. The establishment prides itself on delivering excellent guest service while maintaining a fun, fast-paced yet friendly kitchen environment. Dedicated to the craft of food preparation, Eastburn sources the best ingredients to feature a seasonally-inspired menu that appeals to both locals and visitors alike.
Eastburn Public House is currently seeking motivated and positive Night Line Cooks to join its team. There are two available positions, both scheduled from 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm. One position is full-time, requiring five days per week, while the other is part-time, working three or four days weekly. Both schedules are fixed, allowing team members to plan time with family and friends. Employees in the back of house team earn competitive hourly wages complemented by cash tips amounting to 5% of food sales, an incentive that rewards dedication and hard work.
The Night Line Cook role at Eastburn Public House involves preparing all served food meticulously, ensuring consistency and quality according to the restaurant’s high standards. This role requires strong communication skills, confidence, and self-motivation, as cooks regularly collaborate with the sous chef, co-workers, and front-of-house staff to provide seamless service. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under the pressures of a busy, dynamic kitchen are essential. The kitchen environment is small and close-knit, providing an opportunity for team members to grow professionally and develop their culinary skills in a supportive setting.
Candidates should have experience in a similar restaurant or culinary environment and be comfortable working weekends. Familiarity with kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and standard food safety and sanitation procedures is necessary to maintain the high standards Eastburn upholds. The role entails memorizing menu items, adhering to recipes and special diet requirements, and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen tools and equipment. Eastburn values employees who view their role as a meaningful career path rather than a temporary job. Longevity and team cohesion are important to the company culture, which strives to foster a professional and enjoyable workplace where hospitality professionals can thrive.
Joining Eastburn Public House means becoming part of a diverse and hardworking team in a reputable Portland gastro pub that appreciates every individual's contribution. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusivity. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a resume along with a brief note about themselves and their interest in Eastburn. This position offers a competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience, supplemented by a unique tipping system to enhance overall compensation. If you are detail-oriented, passionate about culinary arts, and ready to engage in a stimulating yet balanced work environment, Eastburn Public House welcomes your application.
