Job Description

Four Points by Sheraton at Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport is a distinguished hotel located in Mesa, Arizona, known for blending timeless classics with modern details to deliver an uncomplicated yet exceptional guest experience. As part of Marriott International's portfolio of brands, the hotel is dedicated to welcoming guests from around the globe while fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment for its associates. Marriott International is a renowned global hospitality leader that prides itself on creating opportunities where employees can develop their best selves in a respectful, diverse, and dynamic setting. The Four Points by Sheraton brand embodies a commitment to genuine hospitality, offering guests what they need in a straightforward and friendly manner while ensuring every team member feels valued and part of a close-knit community. This full-time, non-management position is situated at the Four Points by Sheraton property in Mesa, Arizona, at the Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport, emphasizing hands-on engagement with both the operational and guest service aspects of hotel management.

The Night Auditor role at Four Points by Sheraton is a critical position responsible for ensuring the seamless completion of overnight front desk operations and financial auditing. The Night Auditor will execute a variety of tasks that involve reconciling guest accounts, processing payments, and performing end-of-day audits to balance daily revenues accurately. This person acts as a bridge between the front desk and accounting departments, guaranteeing that all financial transactions are recorded correctly and that the hotel’s accounting systems reflect the current business status. Duties include posting charges to guest accounts, processing room rates, cash, checks, and credit transactions, as well as handling adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and other miscellaneous charges. The role demands vigilance and accuracy during the overnight shift, including running the night audit backup and rolling the date on systems used to track guest activities and financial data. Additionally, the Night Auditor will sell accommodations to walk-in guests based on availability and manage guest check-ins, issuing electronic room keys as needed. The position also requires managing the telephone switchboard, scheduling wake-up calls, and effectively communicating messages to guests.

Beyond financial responsibilities, this role requires maintaining safety and security within the hotel environment by reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management promptly. Moreover, the Night Auditor helps to uphold hotel standards by setting up and maintaining work areas, ensuring cleanliness, and monitoring the presentation of materials. The role also emphasizes professional guest interaction through welcoming guests warmly, anticipating their needs, and providing exceptional customer service, including assistance for individuals with disabilities. Clear communication, team collaboration, and adherence to Marriott International’s policies on confidentiality, uniform appearance, and quality assurance standards are equally essential. Physically, the job may involve standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, or reaching. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and develop expertise in both guest relations and financial operations. The role prefers candidates with a high school diploma or GED equivalent and welcomes applicants with less than one year of related work experience. A positive attitude and commitment to Marriott International’s equal opportunity employment principles are paramount. The position requires availability to work weekends with an overnight shift preferred, aligning with hotel operational hours. Marriott International fosters a culture of inclusion and is committed to non-discrimination, making this an ideal workplace for those who value diversity and professional growth. Join Four Points by Sheraton and be part of a global team where you can bring your best work, begin your purpose, belong to an amazing community, and become the best version of yourself.
