Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts including fractions and adjusting measurements
  • Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to operate food preparation and cleanup equipment
  • Ability to work amicably with peers and present a positive attitude
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Free from alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substances in the workplace
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday when school is in session

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals suitable for children and compliant with regulations
  • Practice food and sanitization standards meeting or exceeding USDA requirements
  • Maintain safety standards in food preparation and equipment use
  • Report any kitchen or lunchroom problems or accidents to the Food Service Manager
  • Report receipt of faulty or inferior food to the Food Service Manager
  • Perform additional food service related tasks as assigned
  • Operate kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness
