Job Description

The role being offered is a Problem Management Network Specialist position based in Pearlington, MS. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a competitive pay range of $33.65 to $48.07 per hour. The position requires a fully onsite presence. The specialist will work closely with telecommunications providers, local exchange carriers (LECs), and customers to troubleshoot circuit and data issues. Primary responsibilities include network monitoring, testing, and servicing of network equipment, providing Tier 2/3 support, and collaborating with engineers to resolve network instability and performance problems. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of network and device relationships, have experience with Cisco Layer 2 troubleshooting, and be proficient with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds. Familiarity with ITSM ticketing systems like Remedy and ServiceNow is also important.
Candidates must hold a Top Secret Clearance with active or eligible Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access, as well as certifications like CompTIA Security+ and CCNA. The specialist will manage network performance, address availability issues, guide problem resolution, train users, maintain user accounts, update system security plans, and enforce network security procedures. This role demands strong customer service skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and experience in a 24x7 operational environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience with network types including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SAN, and VoIP, and proficiency in routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, and LDP.

- active top secret clearance with eligible sci
- compTIA security+ certification
- ccna certification
- familiarity with windows systems administration tools and processes
- proven ability to manage multiple tasks/events simultaneously
- experience with solarwinds for network monitoring
- experience in secret and top secret network topology

- experience with various network types including lans, wans, wlans, sans, and voip

Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent

- experience in secret and top secret network topology
- proven initiative in supporting noc personnel in troubleshooting network issues
- proven capacity to provide professional customer service in 24 x 7 operational environment
- familiarity with various network types including lans, wans, wlans, sans, and voip networks
- understanding of the osi model and configuration of routing protocols such as eigrp, ospf, mpls, bgp, and ldp
- experience with safe agile and devsecops
- possess a current secret clearance
- preferred qualifications include an active ts/sci security clearance
- cisco ccna, ccnp, ccie, juniper jncia, jncis, or jncie
- itil v3 practitioner or itil v4 equivalent foundations
- cissp
- it certifications such as security+, cissp, etc.

- itil v4 equivalent
- bachelors degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education with 4 years of professional experience
Job Duties
- working with telco providers, lecs, and customers in troubleshooting circuit and data issues
- answering queries by telephone and e-mail in support of customer hardware, software, network, and telecommunication systems and execution of network procedures
- provide operational support for all network components and conducts problem determinations, escalations and provides problem resolution
- monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment
- assisting and training lower level support employees
- resolving networking/customer related concerns and issues
- supporting engineers in troubleshooting network instability
- communicating to customers and leadership of any impact to operational continuity
- managing network performance, diagnosing performance problems and undertaking tuning activities to ensure network performance meets slr requirements
- reporting on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution
- training users, maintaining, creating and deleting user accounts
- maintaining and updating system security plans on all platforms
- implements and coordinates network policies, procedures and standards
- enforces network security procedures
