Job Description
This opportunity is with a dynamic multi-brand company known for its robust operation of high-volume campus restaurants. Unlike typical restaurant chains, the company operates within the vibrant environment of university campuses, managing multiple restaurant locations that serve a diverse and steady flow of customers primarily made up of students, faculty, and campus visitors. The company prides itself on fostering a culture of hospitality excellence, operational strength, and continuous growth. It offers a unique employment model aligned with the academic calendar, providing a distinct work-life balance that is rare in the restaurant leadership industry. This full-time salaried Multi Unit General Manager position follows the rhythm of the school year, requiring intense leadership and operational management during the roughly thirty-two-week peak season followed by a significantly reduced workload during the off-season. Despite the drop in day-to-day demands during the offseason, the role maintains a year-round salary and benefits package, making it an attractive proposition for experienced leaders seeking to thrive in a structured yet flexible environment. The company emphasizes strong leadership development, operational ownership, and provides clear paths for career advancement into senior field leadership roles as the company expands.
The Multi Unit General Manager role entails leading multiple campus restaurant operations, overseeing the development and performance of General Managers and their teams, and driving profitability and guest satisfaction across the portfolio. The role is designed for a leader who values accountability and has a passion for cultivating high-performing teams by recruiting, training, and mentoring management staff. Operationally, this role demands hands-on involvement to ensure consistent execution of food quality, food safety, cleanliness, inventory control, ordering, and adherence to brand standards. Financial accountability is integral, with full profit and loss ownership across all assigned restaurants. The manager will analyze operational results, monitor labor costs, control food expenses, and manage other controllable expenses to drive financial success. Additionally, the role champions guest experience excellence, setting hospitality standards and ensuring every location delivers a welcoming and satisfying environment. Scheduling demands during peak operational periods require flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and frequent travel between locations is expected. Overall, this is a rare leadership opportunity combining intense, rewarding work during the active months with meaningful downtime, supported by a growing company committed to employee well-being and career growth.
