Amazon.com LLC is a leading global technology company committed to customer-centric innovation, operational excellence, and the development of a diverse and inclusive workplace. Recognized for its pioneering e-commerce platform and expansive logistics network, Amazon continues to set new standards in retail, cloud computing, and digital services. The company is notably dedicated to fostering a safe and engaging work environment for its employees worldwide. Amazon's mission to become Earth's safest place to work underscores its commitment to workplace health and safety through the integration of advanced safety programs, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager position at Amazon represents a vital leadership role in advancing this mission. As a WHS Manager, you will be the safety champion at a site level, responsible for driving the implementation of Amazon's Global WHS Program. This role demands a blend of hands-on safety management and strategic oversight to ensure the protection and well-being of Amazon associates. You will conduct comprehensive risk assessments, analyze safety data, and deploy preventive measures aligned with operational goals.
Working closely with Operations leadership, the WHS Manager guides the establishment of a proactive safety culture that prioritizes associate health while maintaining productivity. You will lead safety compliance efforts including site audits, incident trend analysis, and emergency response preparedness. Your role also involves managing first aid programs and ensuring readiness for workplace emergencies.
This position requires flexibility to travel between sites up to 50-70% of the time and the capacity to work various shifts in dynamic environments. Physical demands include lifting up to 49 pounds and performing activities such as walking, climbing stairs, and working under varied noise and temperature conditions. Candidates must obtain adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification within three weeks from the start date if not already certified.
The WHS Manager role offers a competitive salary range of $63,000 to $94,600 annually depending on location and experience, complemented by Amazon's comprehensive benefits package. This includes health, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans with 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave, mental health support, and employee assistance programs. This position is ideal for professionals with 3+ years of increasing responsibility in workplace health and safety within manufacturing or service operations and who thrive in fast-paced, evolving settings.
Joining Amazon as a WHS Manager means contributing to a transformative safety culture where safety leadership and innovation are paramount. You will play a key role in influencing operational decisions with data-driven insights and fostering partnerships that embed safety into every facet of the business. Amazon encourages a diverse and inclusive workforce and provides workplace accommodations to support all applicants through every stage of the hiring process.
