This particular role is a full-time MRI Technologist position based at the AdventHealth facility located at 301 Memorial Medical Parkway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Scheduled during night and weekend shifts from Thursday through Sunday, 2:30 pm to 1:00 am, the position offers an attractive pay range of $28.68 to $53.35 per hour. Additionally, AdventHealth provides a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a $3,000 relocation package, emphasizing the organization's commitment to attracting and retaining talented professionals. The MRI Technologist plays a crucial role in ensuring diagnostic imaging needs are expertly met, maintaining both patient safety and comfort during MRI procedures. With responsibilities spanning patient preparation, equipment maintenance, and strict adherence to safety protocols, this role requires a dedicated individual skilled in MRI technology and patient care.

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for ensuring exam rooms are not only clean and fully stocked but also equipped with safely maintained machinery. The professional is tasked with educating patients and their families about MRI procedures and safety measures, facilitating a calm and cooperative atmosphere during imaging. Positioning patients with precision and administering IV contrast safely requires both technical expertise and compassionate interaction skills. This role demands continuous quality control, thorough documentation in electronic medical record systems, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and departmental standards. Knowledge of MRI scanners, protocols, and patient safety guidelines is essential, along with the ability to handle complex scenarios involving metal implants, allergies, and claustrophobia. The technologist must also be adept at operating imaging equipment safely, adapting protocols for diverse patient needs, and supporting the hospital’s educational and safety programs. Job Requirements

  • High school grad or equiv
  • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program
  • basic life support - cpr cert (BLS)
  • registered technologist - magnetic resonance imaging (R.T.(MR)ARRT) OR American registry of magnetic resonance imaging technologists (ARMRIT)
  • ability to communicate effectively

Job Duties

  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks
  • notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low
  • educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam
  • positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging
  • prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions
  • performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements
  • follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams
  • maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems
  • performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety
  • reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications
  • screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards
  • operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages
  • other duties as assigned
