As a faith-based, not-for-profit health system, AdventHealth continues to be a respected leader in the healthcare industry through its emphasis on innovation, continuous learning, and community engagement.

This opportunity at AdventHealth is for the role of an MRI Technologist, working primarily on a PRN (pro re nata, or as-needed) basis during 24-hour shifts in Daytona Beach, Florida. The position involves a broad range of responsibilities centered around the operation of MRI equipment, maintaining safety protocols, and providing patients with exceptional care throughout their diagnostic imaging experience. The MRI Technologist ensures that all exam rooms and equipment are meticulously maintained, clean, and stocked, complying with stringent safety and quality standards. This role requires precise patient positioning, administration of IV contrast materials, and careful monitoring for patient reactions, emphasizing patient comfort and cooperation during procedures. The MRI Technologist also performs daily quality control checks and maintains thorough documentation within electronic medical records (EMR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).

The position demands strong knowledge of MRI equipment and safety practices, including patient and staff screening for contraindications or safety risks, as well as the ability to adapt protocols for diverse patient populations across all age ranges. Effective communication skills are crucial for educating patients and their families about MRI procedures, contrast use, and associated safety requirements to reduce anxiety and foster understanding. Flexibility to work varied shifts, sometimes including weekends and holidays, is also required to meet the department's operational needs.

AdventHealth values professionals who demonstrate technical competence, ethical responsibility, and compassionate patient care. The role is suited for individuals with at least one year of experience in radiology, preferably with MRI training, and who maintain necessary licenses and certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and registries from recognized professional organizations like the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). AdventHealth supports ongoing education and encourages technologists to stay current with industry advancements and institutional standards.

The compensation for this position ranges from $28.68 to $53.35 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and dedication required. AdventHealth is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and compliance with all applicable anti-discrimination laws.
