Job Description
Pier Sixty-Six Resort is South Florida's beacon of hospitality, located in the vibrant city of Fort Lauderdale. This luxury resort is renowned for its iconic landmarks, including the famed superyacht marina and the rotating Pier-Top lounge, which offer guests breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences. Set on a lush 32-acre waterfront enclave, Pier Sixty-Six combines elegance with a rich maritime heritage, creating a unique destination for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. The resort features 325 exquisitely designed guest rooms, suites, and villas alongside 91 exclusive Private Resort Residences, offering a perfect blend of comfort and sophistication.
With 12 diverse restaurants and lounges, a luxurious spa, a variety of curated pools, and a bustling waterfront promenade filled with retail and dining options, Pier Sixty-Six caters to a wide array of tastes and preferences. Every corner of the resort is meticulously crafted to inspire and soothe, underscored by exceptional service and refined touches. The resort boasts a dedicated team of over 600 talented individuals committed to delivering memorable experiences and stellar service to guests and residents alike.
The Bartender/Mixologist - Fine Dining position at Pier Sixty-Six Resort is a critical role within the team, supporting the upscale Garden Room restaurant and serving as a key player in delivering impeccable guest experiences. This high-volume setting demands a passion for mixology, personalized service, and genuine guest engagement. Under the guidance of the outlet General Manager, the bartender is responsible for preparing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, recommending drinks based on guest preferences, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area adhering to resort and health standards.
The role requires extensive knowledge of classic and specialty cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers, as well as the ability to accurately measure ingredients using a jigger as per Pier Sixty-Six's strict recipe guidelines. Responsibilities include serving food and beverages, setting up and closing the bar according to five-star standards, participating in ongoing training, and handling POS transactions efficiently. The Bartender/Mixologist also plays an important role in communicating with both the kitchen and guests, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
Physical stamina and attention to safety are paramount in this position, with regular requirements to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and manage bar equipment safely. Professionalism, including maintaining a clean uniform, exhibiting courteous behavior, and adhering to the resort's grooming and conduct policies, are integral to success in this role.
Candidates with prior bartending experience in a professional setting, TIPS certification (or willing to obtain it within 30 days), and a current Food Handlers card are strongly preferred. Sommelier certification is also advantageous, reflecting the resort's commitment to superior beverage service. The position offers highly competitive wages, a culture that values employee welfare and growth, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, paid time off, and more.
Joining Pier Sixty-Six means becoming part of a passionate team focused on crafting extraordinary experiences within one of South Florida’s most iconic hospitality destinations. This opportunity is ideal for energetic, polished professionals eager to grow their careers in a prestigious environment where every detail matters.
