The Manager in Training (MIT) position at SNIPES is an entry-level management opportunity designed for individuals aspiring to lead at the store level. This full-time hourly role places the MIT in charge of managing store staff and operations during the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager. The MIT will work closely with store leadership to drive sales and profitability while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Key responsibilities include supporting operational goals, monitoring sales performance, leading the store team effectively, maintaining merchandising standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies related to loss prevention, cleanliness, and promotional execution.

This role requires a proactive and results-driven candidate with strong communication and organizational skills. The MIT must possess a deep enthusiasm for the SNIPES brand and exhibit leadership qualities that motivate and guide the team towards achieving sales targets and operational excellence. Candidates are expected to stand for extended periods, handle merchandise weighing up to 30 pounds, and respond promptly to store alarms if necessary. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • At least 2+ years retail experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to respond to store alarm problems as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift between 15-30 pounds
  • Effective communication and organizational skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate leadership in driving sales and profitability by achieving or exceeding all established store and individual goals
  • Demonstrate high level of customer service
  • Assist Store Manager/Assistant Manager with communicating the store’s operational goals and directives to maximize the store teams’ contributions towards meeting the sales plan
  • Assist Store Manager in monitoring and evaluating individual performance in sales volume, hourly production, unit per transaction (UPTs), charge accounts and loss prevention
  • Demonstrate proper leadership skills to assist Store Manager in managing the store’s staff
  • Demonstrate timely execution and compliance of floor set guides and promotions
  • Assist Store Manager/Assistant Manager in directing and maintaining merchandise presentation according to Visual Merchandising standards and current floor set
  • Recognize and communicate customer merchandise needs and recognize when the store’s merchandise assortment meets or fails to meet these needs
  • Work with the Store Manager to ensure markdowns and transfers are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Assist Store/Assistant Manager in ensuring store meets Company standards for cleanliness on the sales floor and in the stockroom
