Job Requirements
- Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship
- bachelor’s degree in meteorology
- minimum of 2 years experience forecasting and presenting weather forecasts
- knowledge of TV weather graphics systems
- ability to work different and extended shifts including weekends and holidays
- willingness to travel and interact with the community
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology
- 2+ years forecasting and presenting weathercasts
- working knowledge of TV weather graphics systems
- knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical meteorology, and radar
- ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- willingness to travel for work assignments
- enthusiasm for covering breaking news
- preferred certification includes National Weather Association or AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal
- basic proficiency with office and newsroom software
- ability to lift up to five pounds
