Job Description
Burlington Stores, Inc. is a nationally recognized off-price retailer known for offering customers high-quality, branded apparel, footwear, and home products at unbeatable prices. Established as one of the largest off-price retail chains in the United States, Burlington has built a strong reputation for affordability combined with a positive shopping experience. The company operates numerous stores across multiple states, catering to a diverse clientele and maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and community involvement. Burlington continues to expand rapidly, driven by its commitment to excellent service, merchandise variety, and strong value propositions.
As a Merchandising Manager at Burlington, you will step into a pivotal leadership role tasked with overseeing the day-to-day merchandising operations within the store. This position requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment where organization, efficiency, and attention to detail are paramount. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the sales floor is maintained impeccably, that merchandise is presented attractively and according to company standards, and that the entire store environment supports an exceptional customer shopping experience. From managing fitting rooms to coordinating merchandise recovery and sizing, your influence will be critical in driving sales and customer satisfaction.
Your role is key to the successful execution of merchandising strategies. You will be responsible for monitoring daily sales performance using various sales reports to identify trends and opportunities. Acting as a mentor and role model, you will guide the Selling Floor Supervisor and receiving teams in expediting the movement of merchandise to the sales floor. Coordinating the implementation of sales promotions, floor sets, and accurate pricing will be essential, as is ensuring compliance with visual merchandising principles.
Moreover, this role involves hands-on leadership, including acting as the Manager on Duty, where you set the leadership example through effective communication, decision-making, and problem-solving. You will collaborate closely with the Store Manager and district/regional teams to address merchandising challenges, improve operational processes, and align store practices with broader company goals. Your involvement in staffing, interviewing, training, and succession planning reflects the importance Burlington places on building strong, capable teams.
The Merchandising Manager position offers a competitive wage between $28.15 and $37.50 per hour, reflecting the vital contribution this role makes to the success of the store. The work schedule is flexible, often requiring availability during early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of retail operations. In addition to a rewarding work environment, Burlington provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage plus life and disability insurance. Full-time associates can also access paid time off, paid holidays, sick leave, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
Through the extensive training and development opportunities Burlington offers, you will have the chance to enhance your professional skills and grow your career in retail management. This role not only emphasizes strong organizational and leadership abilities but also rewards adaptability, multitasking, and a customer-focused mindset. By joining Burlington, you become part of a dynamic and engaged team that values diversity, inclusivity, and the drive to achieve outstanding results in the retail industry.
