The Merchandise Manager role at USA TODAY Co. is a pivotal position responsible for managing the RAGBRAI merchandise program with a clear focus on achieving financial targets and optimizing product strategies. This position involves overseeing all aspects of merchandise planning, buying, and execution, including the management of the Shopify storefront, live events, retail spaces, and online inventory. The Merchandise Manager collaborates closely with Marketing and Creative teams to develop well-curated merchandise assortments that resonate with customers and maintain strong brand consistency across multiple sales channels. Essential responsibilities include analyzing sales data, leveraging market insights, developing revenue targets, and managing detailed budgets and forecasts to guide purchasing decisions effectively. The role demands strong analytical skills and financial acumen to track sales performance, conduct detailed post-event financial analyses, and identify opportunities to enhance inventory efficiency and profitability.

Beyond financial and planning duties, the Merchandise Manager actively participates in product sourcing and development, working with vendors to find products that meet stringent quality, aesthetic, and cost standards. Managing product launch timelines and maintaining vendor relations are integral components of this role. The manager also administers the online merchandise store, ensuring product listings are optimized for customer engagement and sales conversion. Job Requirements
