Job Description

Florida Blue is a leading health insurance provider committed to transforming health through compassionate, connected, and technology-enabled care. As a key member of GuideWell, the company focuses on delivering personalized value and empowered living to its customers. Florida Blue is well-recognized for its innovative approach in the healthcare industry, offering a comprehensive range of insurance products that cater to diverse healthcare needs, including Medicare plans. The organization upholds a strong commitment to community engagement and consumer-focused health education, positioning itself as a trusted partner in improving health outcomes for individuals and communities across Florida and beyond.

The Community Events Specialist role at Florida Blue is a vital position responsible for leading and executing consumer-facing, senior-focused events that enhance community outreach and business development. This full-time role involves strategic planning, market analysis, and onsite event management to support Florida Blue Medicare initiatives. You will collaborate with community leaders, sales agents, and healthcare providers to foster meaningful partnerships and elevate the company’s presence within key markets.

In this role, you will handle diverse events such as sporting activities, lifestyle gatherings, educational seminars, workshops, and provider-specific engagements including lunch and learn sessions and open house events. Your responsibilities include managing event logistics, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, facilitating presentations, and enrolling members into Florida Blue Medicare programs. You'll also work with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop community-based event strategies, leveraging in-market insights and relationships to optimize outreach and referral opportunities.

A significant aspect of this role involves supporting local sales offices and community relations managers by participating in marketing events and contributing to the development of tailored event strategies. You will analyze data such as heat maps and demographic trends to identify new growth opportunities and recommend innovative partnership approaches and venues. Managing event metrics, budgets, and activation compliance standards will be important components of your work, along with maintaining relevant licenses to deliver compliant educational and outreach activities.

The role requires approximately 25-35% travel, including overnight and weekend trips, particularly during key periods like the Annual Election Period and Open Enrollment Period. Successful candidates will possess strong organizational and time management skills, excellent presentation abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The position offers a competitive salary range between $77,600 and $126,100 annually, with typical hiring ranges from $77,600 to $97,000 based on experience and qualifications.

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about healthcare outreach, community engagement, and event management, who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy building collaborative relationships that drive business results and improve community health outcomes. Florida Blue provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and wellness programs, demonstrating their commitment to employee wellbeing and professional growth.
