Job Requirements
- Six months related experience
- accurate computer and keyboarding skills required
- knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure patient safety
- proficiency in operation of telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photocopier and fax machine
- ability to work occasional weekends and holidays
- ability to sit for long periods of time
- ability to key for long periods of time
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least six months of related experience
- accurate computer and keyboarding skills
- knowledge of age-related growth and development principles
- proficiency in operating office equipment
- some medical background preferred
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- knowledge of medical terminology desirable
- excellent customer service and human relations sensitivity
- telephone etiquette and listening skills
- ability to ask patients for copays and manage race collection
- ability to work in a fast-paced structured environment
- ability to sit and key for extended periods
Job Duties
- Handle incoming calls in a call center environment while maintaining a minimum of 93% availability
- greet patients and provide courteous assistance at the front desk
- collect co-pays and ensure accurate transaction processing
- schedule follow-up appointments and referrals for patients
- support departmental clerical duties such as data entry and document management
- operate office equipment including telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photocopier and fax machine
- maintain patient confidentiality and promote positive patient relations
- adhere to department guidelines and processes for efficient workflow
- assist patients with inquiries and direct them to appropriate care resources
