The role of Medical Receptionist at UnitedHealth Group is a full-time, weekday position located at 231 Seasons Rd Ste 300, Hudson, OH 44224. This position offers a weekly schedule of 40 hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The Medical Receptionist will join the Family Medicine team and serve as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors. Core responsibilities include managing patient check-in and check-out efficiently and courteously, scheduling appointments according to established protocols, answering telephone inquiries, collecting payments, and updating patient demographic information. The role requires routine use of electronic health records (EHR) to document patient interactions, scan documents, and manage administrative workflow such as in-basket pools and work queues. This position demands a friendly, patient-focused, and detail-oriented individual who can navigate the complexities of healthcare administration with professionalism and accuracy. Successful candidates will contribute to maintaining patient confidentiality and supporting the care team in delivering excellent service. Compensation for this role ranges from $16 to $29 per hour based on experience, education, and local labor market conditions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of receptionist or customer service experience
  • beginner level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Duties

  • Conduct check-out and check-in process
  • answer incoming calls and use EHR to document details of patient inquiries
  • conduct outreach to patients requiring appointments or service follow-up
  • schedule appointments using standard scheduling protocols
  • manage administrative in-basket pools and work queues
  • scan documents into the EHR per standard protocols
  • balance payments and prepare deposits
  • protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal and financial information
  • perform other duties as assigned
