Apex Dermatology & Skin Surgery Center is a rapidly expanding skincare facility dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and service in Northeast Ohio. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and personable Medical Receptionist to join the Apex Dermatology & Skin Surgery Center team. This full-time, hourly position plays a pivotal role in managing the front desk and administrative operations of the clinic. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, handling communication effectively, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and visitors. Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational skills, an ability to multitask efficiently, and a warm, professional demeanor suitable for a busy medical environment. Responsibilities include answering phones with excellent telephone etiquette, assisting medical assistants with patient calls, managing patient appointment schedules through various channels such as in-person, email, or phone, and ensuring confidentiality of personal and financial patient information.
The role also involves financial management tasks including recording and updating patient financial data, managing insurance information, and controlling patient credit as well as coordinating third-party claims. Proficiency in medical office software such as EMA or ECW as well as basic office applications like Word and Excel is essential. Candidates should be adept at verifying insurance coverage, handling no-show or cancellation follow-ups, maintaining medical office supplies, and ensuring that the reception area remains clean and organized. The Medical Receptionist will contribute to operational efficiency by adhering to established policies and procedures and fostering a positive patient experience that anticipates and alleviates patient anxieties.

Job Duties
- Answer the phone while maintaining a polite consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
- Experience with copiers fax machines scanners
- Insurance and insurance terminology knowledge
- Excellent customer service friendly professional courteous
- Assist Medical Assistant’s with Patient calls
- Optimize patients' satisfaction and provider time by scheduling appointments in person email or telephone
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining recording and updating personal and financial information
- Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information recording and collecting patient charges controlling credit extended to patients filing collecting and expediting third-party claims
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures reporting needed changes
- Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties answering questions maintaining the reception area
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Keep medical office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs placing orders and monitoring office equipment
- Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
- Maintain an efficient schedule scrubbing the schedule work the wait list follow-up list
- Enter all insurance information proficiently without errors
- Call patients that no-show or cancel keep documentation list being followed up on
- Verify patients insurance coverage
- End of day balance end of day close of collected funds
