Job Description
American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest and most recognized primary and urgent care providers in the United States. With a commitment to delivering convenient, patient-centric healthcare, AFC operates more than 250 clinics nationwide. Their centers deliver a wide range of services including episodic treatment for acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location is designed with state-of-the-art facilities featuring onsite laboratories and in-house x-ray capabilities, ensuring patients receive comprehensive and efficient care seven days a week on a walk-in basis. AFC has gained a reputation for excellence and accessibility, allowing patients to receive quality healthcare without the usual wait times associated with doctor’s offices or emergency rooms.
AFC is also the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF). This position is based in a franchised location, where employment terms, specific responsibilities, and benefits may vary according to the particular franchise owner. Franchise locations maintain high standards to align with the overall AFC brand and mission, but allow some operational independence to meet local community needs.
The role offered is that of a Patient Service Representative, who plays a critical part in the smooth operation of the clinic and patient experience. The primary function of this position is to accurately manage patient check-ins and check-outs, verify insurance details, collect payments, and maintain comprehensive patient records. The Patient Service Representative supports clinic efficiency by managing patient flow and ensuring positive interactions at the front desk. This includes greeting patients upon arrival, providing necessary forms, and verifying key information such as insurance and identification cards.
In this role, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff are essential. The Patient Service Representative must be adept at handling multiple tasks, including payment processing, record keeping, and responding to patient inquiries. This position helps uphold the high standards of customer service that AFC prides itself on, contributing to a positive experience for each patient.
Working at AFC offers competitive compensation ranging from $15.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. The company encourages the professional growth of employees through training and development opportunities. AFC’s mission is to provide the best possible healthcare in a kind and caring environment, with respect for all patients, at convenient times and locations. Those who join AFC become part of a fast-growing healthcare leader that values making a difference in their communities and lives of others.
Applicants can expect to work in a friendly, small business environment with flexible scheduling that supports work-life balance. The company also emphasizes employee well-being through various benefits, including paid time off and performance-based bonuses. Whether one is seeking to build a long-term career in healthcare or gain valuable administrative experience, this position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to patient care and clinic operations within a respected network of urgent and primary care providers.
