LabCorp is currently seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join its team at Ascension St. John Owasso, located in Owasso, Oklahoma. This position operates on a per diem or as-needed schedule, offering flexibility for professionals who want to contribute their expertise on a variable basis. The role is pivotal within a high-volume, production-based clinical lab environment where accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to protocol are essential. The Clinical Lab Professional will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory procedures, ensuring that specimens meet quality standards, and maintaining the integrity of lab operations. This role requires an individual who possesses strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

As a Clinical Lab Professional at LabCorp, you will engage in critical activities such as specimen acceptability determination, operation and troubleshooting of sophisticated lab instruments, preparation and evaluation of reagents and controls, and the accurate reporting of test results that directly impact patient care outcomes. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
  • 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience or an MLS degree
  • In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • Proficient with computers
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental standard operating procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
