Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of medical scheduling experience
- English proficiency
- ability to handle sensitive medical information responsibly
- excellent communication skills
- proficient with EMR systems (Urochart preferred)
- availability to work full-time in person
- ability to work Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shifts
- experience with medical appointment scheduling
- preferred experience in procedure, surgery, and urology scheduling
- experience with receiving and processing referrals
- preferred experience in pain management, cardiology, ambulatory surgery, endoscopy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least 2 years of medical scheduling experience
- proficiency in English
- bilingual skills preferred
- skilled in using computers and related software such as Microsoft Office and EMR systems
- excellent communication skills
- ability to multitask
- strong organizational and time management skills
- positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
Job Duties
- Greet callers warmly and provide courteous service
- understand the responsibility of serving as the first point of contact for patients
- use sound judgment in handling calls, especially with sensitive medical information
- answer calls within three to four rings
- add and update patient demographics and insurance information thoroughly and accurately
- confirm, cancel, reschedule and update patient appointments upon request
- use the EMR system to match physician availability with patient needs and preferences
- schedule appointments based on clinic and practice guidelines
- maintain and regularly update scheduling systems to keep patient records accurate and complete
- communicate with physicians, clinicians, and staff about scheduling concerns
- complete requests from other medical offices such as faxing medical records
- address patient concerns efficiently and effectively
- use customer service skills to handle patient interactions pleasantly
- perform other clerical duties as assigned by the office manager or administrator
