Job Description
CenterWell Senior Primary Care, a part of Humana Inc., is a premier healthcare services provider committed to delivering proactive and personalized care to seniors. Known for its integrated care teams that include physicians, nurses, behavioral health specialists, and other healthcare professionals, CenterWell focuses on addressing the whole-person well-being of its patients. Their unique care model ensures that patients receive more attention and time, with teams spending up to 50 percent more time engaging with patients in wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and treatment of minor injuries. CenterWell not only prioritizes the physical well-being of seniors but also addresses emotional and social health factors, improving overall health outcomes. As part of Humana, CenterWell is widely recognized as the largest provider of senior-focused primary care services and continually strives to innovate healthcare delivery through its integrated home delivery, specialty, hospice, and retail pharmacy services.
This Medical Assistant role offers a full-time, onsite employment opportunity that plays a crucial part within the CenterWell team. The position reports directly to the Manager and Center Administrator. As a Medical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patient care, balancing both administrative and clinical duties that are essential to the workflow of the care center. Your role includes performing a variety of clinical responsibilities such as discussing symptoms with patients, obtaining vital signs, administering medications and vaccines, and performing phlebotomy, specimen collection, and diagnostic screening tests. Additionally, you will help maintain a clean and sterile environment by sterilizing medical equipment and keeping examination rooms well-prepared for each patient.
Collaboration is a key element of this role, as you will regularly work alongside physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure the patients receive top-quality care. This position requires interpreting department policies and using independent judgment in prioritizing and completing assignments. You will enter patient information accurately into electronic medical records and follow standard procedures that allow a degree of autonomy and discretion. The role demands a responsible individual who can balance routine tasks with semi-complex administrative and clinical assignments, contributing to an efficient and compassionate healthcare setting.
The opportunity at CenterWell also comes with a competitive salary range estimated between $43,000 and $56,200 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, education, and certifications. There is also eligibility for a bonus incentive plan that rewards individual and company performance. The work schedule consists of 40 hours per week, with a strong emphasis on direct patient-facing duties, thus requiring compliance with the company’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
Working at CenterWell provides an environment where your skills directly impact patient care and well-being. The company values diversity, equity, and inclusion, operating with an equal opportunity employment policy ensuring nondiscrimination based on race, gender, age, disability, or veteran status. Additionally, CenterWell supports its employees throughout their careers with a comprehensive benefits package designed to foster well-being both professionally and personally. Joining CenterWell means being part of a caring community dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors through high-quality, compassionate medical care.
