Job Description
The Clinical Neuroscience Center is a dedicated department focused on providing high-quality medical support and care in the specialized field of neuroscience. This role is tailored for a full-time clinical nursing support professional who will perform a variety of front and back office clerical duties to assist in the smooth operation of the clinical neuroscience area. Key responsibilities include collecting patient data accurately, obtaining detailed patient medical histories, and assisting with various treatment procedures. The position also involves preparing instruments for sterilization, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and coordinating appointments with precision. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program or two years MA experience on DD Form 214
- successful completion of UNMH MA Safe Medication Administration course within 90 days
- CPR for Healthcare or BLS provider or professional rescuers certification within 30 days
- ability to perform heavy physical work involving lifting up to 100 pounds
- adherence to patient safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment
- availability to work rotating shifts and travel to various work sites as necessary
- tuberculosis testing upon hire and as required
- no minimum experience required but bilingual skills in English and local indigenous languages preferred.

Job Duties
- Adhere to and promote patient centered medical home core expectations
- assist in preparation of patient care including admission, transfer, and discharge processes
- assist provider with treatment procedures including setting up sterile fields and chaperoning
- perform routine non-invasive and some invasive treatment procedures including phlebotomy, ear irrigation, catheterization, and EKGs
- administer medication following the seven rights and document clinical findings
- perform patient initial screening, record vital signs and chief complaints, and collect patient data
- enter and verify data accuracy, schedule appointments, answer and direct phone calls, take and relay messages
- perform basic cashiering duties including collecting monies and balancing cash register
- maintain sanitary work area including patient care rooms, equipment, and instruments
- report equipment problems, order and stock supplies, maintain appropriate PAR levels
- provide quality customer service ensuring satisfaction
- perform related duties as required
- follow patient safety-related policies and protocols
- demonstrate proactive patient safety approach and report environmental risks
