Job Description
The Chi Center (TCC) is a renowned movement-driven organization dedicated to the ancient healing traditions of Wisdom Healing Qigong. Founded and led by Master Mingtong Gu, the center serves as a beacon for those seeking physical, emotional, and spiritual healing through mindful practices and community engagement. Based at the SouthWest Sanctuary in Galisteo, New Mexico, The Chi Center offers a unique blend of digital education, live retreats, and a nationally distributed book campaign that together foster a growing community of wellness practitioners, teachers, and ambassadors across the United States. With a mission deeply rooted in embodiment, healing, and conscious living, TCC is more than an educational platform; it is a transformative movement impacting lives on multiple levels.
We are currently seeking a senior-level Media, Partner & Event Manager to join our dedicated team. This hybrid role requires a presence in New Mexico while offering flexibility for remote work. The position offers compensation that is commensurate with experience and can be structured as either W-2 employment or 1099 contracting, catering to various professional preferences. This pivotal leadership role acts as the primary conduit between our mission and the wider world, harmonizing media strategy with live event production, retreat operations, and executive support for Master Mingtong Gu.
This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of media outreach, experiential event production, and strategic partner management. Unlike traditional coordination roles, this job demands strategic ownership and the ability to proactively solve problems and drive meaningful outcomes across complex, multi-platform campaigns. The Media, Partner & Event Manager will spearhead external media relations, including securing podcast placements and wellness press coverage, while nurturing durable media relationships that extend beyond one-time engagements.
Another core responsibility lies in orchestrating a multi-city national book tour—encompassing 11 West Coast cities as well as key East Coast locations—requiring meticulous logistical management from pre-tour planning through post-event evaluations. This includes managing venue contracts, on-site staffing, inventory, and real-time event execution. The role also oversees event and retreat operations at the SouthWest Sanctuary, focusing on delivering a seamless, high-quality experience for participants, guest teachers, and partners.
Moreover, the manager will handle the day-to-day social media management across key platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. This involves publishing content in real time during events, community engagement, and aligning media assets with campaign goals, ensuring that all communications resonate with TCC’s values. Serving as a senior support contact for Master Mingtong Gu, this role requires discretion, professionalism, and anticipation of needs to allow the Master to focus on his teaching without disruption.
Ideal candidates should possess 8 to 15+ years of experience in media relations, event production, partner relations, and strategic communications within wellness or related fields. They should demonstrate adeptness in managing complex multi-city events, possess a history of supporting high-profile leaders, and have a genuine connection to healing arts or conscious leadership. Proficiency with project management tools, CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and social media schedulers is essential.
This role requires availability for travel during peak campaign periods between July and August 2026, including active onsite presence during retreats and events at the SouthWest Sanctuary. Reporting directly to Master Mingtong Gu and collaborating closely with TCC’s operations and campaign leadership, this position is a unique opportunity to leverage operational precision and strategic media expertise in service of a transformative mission. Candidates passionate about leading world-class events and media campaigns that truly matter are encouraged to apply by submitting their resume and a brief introduction highlighting relevant leadership experiences and a personal connection to the work.
