Job Description

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is a well-respected healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional medical services to the community. With multiple facilities serving diverse patient populations, it focuses on compassionate care and innovative medical practices. As part of its mission to enhance the health and well-being of its patients, Roper St. Francis Healthcare invests in advanced technology and skilled professionals, fostering a supportive environment for both patients and employees. The organization’s commitment to quality care is reflected in its wide range of services, including express care clinics, primary care, specialty care, and emergency services. It is known for its patient-centered approach, ensuring that every individual receives personalized attention and appropriate medical treatment.

The current opportunity is to join the team as a Receptionist who will float between the Bees Ferry Express Care and the Johns Island Express Care clinics. This position involves working in a dynamic clinic environment open daily from 8 am to 8 pm, with shifts comprised of three 12-hour rotations that include weekends. The role centers around greeting, guiding, and scheduling patients and their family members, ensuring a seamless and patient-focused experience from the moment they enter the clinic. Responsibilities include handling appointment scheduling effectively to meet patients' needs and aiding in the selection of primary care clinicians while emphasizing the importance of ongoing care with the same clinician.

This receptionist role also requires managing prescription requests, coordinating referrals to other physician offices, and ensuring that insurance referrals are processed when necessary. In addition to these tasks, the receptionist will answer phones, direct calls appropriately, collect copayments and deductibles at the time of service, and handle the accurate posting of medical billing codes. Proficiency with practice management and electronic health record systems is essential to maintaining accurate records and smooth clinic operations. The receptionist serves as a key liaison between patients and the clinical team, striving to provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple tasks efficiently and calmly.

The position demands strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to multitask without showing stress to patients or colleagues. Physical demands include frequent interaction with patients, some standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting or moving items and patients. The work environment is a typical medical office setting where staff may be exposed to infectious materials and communicable diseases. Roper St. Francis Healthcare supports its employees with comprehensive benefits, competitive pay, and opportunities for professional growth. Candidates will find a rewarding role that combines patient interaction with administrative duties, crucial to the smooth running of the clinics.
