Job Description
Mathnasium is a renowned math learning center franchise dedicated to transforming students' lives through the power of mathematics. Established with a mission to help students build a solid foundation in math, Mathnasium offers a unique approach that blends personalized instruction, proven teaching methods, and interactive learning. The Bulverde Center, as part of this larger network, prides itself on creating a nurturing and engaging environment where students from grades 1 through 12 can develop number sense, boost their confidence, and gain a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. Mathnasium believes that every child has the potential to excel in math when provided with the right guidance and support.
We are currently looking for exceptional tutors to join the Bulverde Center team as Mathnasium instructors. This part-time position offers a starting pay rate of $12.00 to $14.00 per hour, with a flexible and consistent schedule averaging 8 to 15 hours per week. As a Mathnasium instructor, you will have the rewarding opportunity to help students of all grade levels improve their math skills without the responsibilities of lesson planning or assigning homework, as all instructional materials and curriculum are provided. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about math, enjoy working with children, and want to deepen their understanding of math concepts through ongoing training in the Mathnasium Method.
The position entails creating a positive and fun learning center atmosphere where students feel motivated to learn and succeed. You'll be responsible for implementing Mathnasium's structured curriculum and teaching methods, which are designed to address individual student needs and learning styles. Instructors participate in continuous training and development programs to refine their teaching skills and stay updated on best practices. This collaborative and supportive work environment encourages instructors to share ideas, celebrate student progress, and contribute to a community that values education and growth.
The application process includes completing an easy, mobile-friendly online application where candidates can submit a resume or provide a summary of their education and work experience. Prospective instructors are required to pass an employment test covering basic math through Algebra 2 and Geometry, ensuring a solid proficiency in math. Candidates who score at least 85% on the test will be invited to interview with the Center Director to discuss their approach to teaching and student engagement. The entire hiring process is designed to be efficient, with prompt communication of decisions to candidates.
Mathnasium is committed to equal employment opportunities and fosters an inclusive workplace free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, citizenship, pregnancy, veteran status, or any other legally protected status. Working at Mathnasium is not only a chance to earn competitive pay with flexible hours but also to make a meaningful difference in students’ educational journeys while advancing your professional skills in a supportive environment.
