Job Description

Tommy Bahama is a globally recognized lifestyle brand known for its relaxed island-inspired apparel, restaurants, and home furnishings. Established with a vision to bring the easygoing island life to customers around the world, Tommy Bahama is not just a brand but a way of living that evokes the carefree spirit of tropical retreats. With a focus on quality, comfort, and style, the company has expanded its footprint beyond clothing to include destination dining and retail experiences, blending tropical ambiance with exceptional service and offerings. The brand is committed to creating inviting spaces where guests can unwind, connect, and enjoy memorable moments, whether through their retail stores, restaurants, or bars.

One of Tommy Bahama's vibrant ventures is The Marlin Bar, a laid-back oasis initially launched in 2016 at Coconut Point, Florida. Designed as a casual gathering spot for locals and travelers alike, The Marlin Bar combines light fare, frozen cocktails, and retail therapy in a setting that captures the essence of island living. Since its inception, the concept has expanded with locations including a notable presence in Palm Springs, California, and plans for several additional venues across the United States. The Marlin Bar continues to attract guests seeking a relaxed atmosphere where friendly service and a welcoming vibe are always the catch of the day.

The Culinary Lead role at The Marlin Bar is pivotal in delivering exceptional culinary experiences that align with Tommy Bahama's core values and standards. This position is responsible for leading the culinary team with motivation, clear communication, and support, ensuring that each guest enjoys the highest quality food offerings in a warm and hospitable environment. As the Culinary Lead, you will be the guide for both guests and team members, fostering a culture of learning and culinary excellence. The role demands comprehensive knowledge of all food menus and recipes, including ingredient details, preparation techniques, and presentation standards, ensuring consistent execution and high customer satisfaction.

In addition to hands-on culinary expertise, the Culinary Lead participates actively in location meetings and training sessions to stay informed and implement company learning programs. Educating team members about food services and ingredients is essential to maintaining product knowledge and service quality across the team. The position also emphasizes the importance of a safe, clean, and sanitary environment in compliance with applicable agency standards and safety protocols for food and beverage service.

This role requires a proactive communicator who embraces the Tommy Bahama culture and creates an engaging, nurturing workplace that promotes team success and financial growth. The ability to respond constructively to feedback and coaching is vital, as is the willingness to perform additional duties as needed to support business operations. The Culinary Lead will need to be physically capable of lifting weight frequently, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders occasionally, and standing for extended periods.

Employment for the Culinary Lead is typically full-time, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $21.00 to $27.00 depending on experience, location, and skillset. Tommy Bahama values diversity and inclusion, providing equal opportunity employment while complying with federal, state, and local employment laws. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess certification such as a food handler's card and alcohol service certification as required by legislation.

Working at Tommy Bahama means joining a team that is passionate about delivering exceptional island-inspired hospitality and culinary delights, in environments designed to let guests experience the blissful island way of life. If you seek a dynamic role that combines leadership, guest interaction, and culinary creativity in a brand that celebrates life in paradise, the Culinary Lead position at The Marlin Bar offers a rewarding and engaging career path.
