The role of Events Planning Professional in Cohen & Co’s Growth team is a pivotal position responsible for driving the firm’s event management strategy that supports business development and relationship-building initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, the successful candidate will lead the design, planning, execution, and evaluation of a wide array of market-facing events ranging from national conferences and local seminars to webinars and third-party sponsorship engagements. The events managed by this role are diverse in their scope, spanning multiple formats and target audiences, including high-profile client entertainment, networking events, and continuing professional education (CPE) programs.
This role demands a seasoned professional with a comprehensive understanding of event planning, project management, and marketing collaboration. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, bringing organizational acumen and creativity to every facet of the event lifecycle. Key responsibilities include developing and promoting branded and co-branded events that align with the firm’s strategic goals, securing and coordinating speakers, managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and ensuring flawless on-site event execution. Additionally, the professional will serve as the lead planner for Cohen & Co’s flagship annual Investment Industry CPE event, a significant multi-day affair attended by over 400 clients, prospects, and internal team members.
Beyond operational duties, this role involves a strategic component that includes analyzing event performance metrics, optimizing the use of technology platforms such as Salesforce, Pardot, and Cvent, and incorporating learning from feedback to improve future events. The Events Planning Professional will work cross-functionally with industry marketing leads and other key stakeholders to integrate event content with social media, email marketing campaigns, and lead tracking efforts, thereby maximizing event ROI and business impact. The position requires up to 30% travel to support events at various locations across the United States and occasional availability during evenings and weekends. Job Requirements
- 10 years of progressive experience in events and meeting planning
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience managing complex projects including budgeting and contract negotiation
- Proficiency with webinar platforms, CRM, marketing automation and event marketing tools
- Ability to travel up to 30% for events
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Strong organizational and communication skills

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Experience of 10 years or more in events and meeting planning
- Proficiency with webinar, CRM, marketing automation, and event marketing tools
- Experience with Salesforce, Pardot, and Cvent is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
- Strong client service mindset

Job Duties
- Develop, promote, produce and analyze effectiveness of market-facing events including branded and co-branded programs, webinars, CPE and thought leadership programs, sponsorships, client entertainment, networking and appreciation events and other strategic initiatives
- Provide advanced event planning expertise from concept to goal setting, working with internal steering committees and firm leadership
- Organize activities related to agenda setting, sourcing and securing speakers, budget management, venue sourcing, contract negotiation, logistics management, and flawless execution
- Serve as event planning lead for the firm’s annual Investment Industry CPE event for over 400 attendees
- Foster collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Analyze event operations and suggest improvements including technology utilization and automation
- Provide post event analysis, budget recaps, feedback integration, and incorporate learnings into future plans
- Collaborate with marketing leads on event content, social media, email marketing, list management, and ROI/lead tracking
