It serves as a vibrant public space hosting a variety of events ranging from experiential marketing campaigns and brand activations to festivals, marketplaces, and community partnerships. This venue is also known for supporting creative pursuits such as filming locations for television, commercials, movies, as well as art installations and photoshoots. Managed by a dedicated building and events team, 401 North Michigan stands out as a cornerstone location for diverse and engaging urban experiences, attracting a wide range of clientele including corporate, social, civic, and non-profit organizations.
We are seeking a proactive and energetic Marketing and Events Intern for Summer 2026 to join our team at 401 North Michigan/Pioneer Court. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event marketing and coordination within an iconic urban environment. The successful candidate will assist the Director of Events and management team in executing events from conception through to completion, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional client service.
This role involves supporting marketing initiatives, managing logistics, engaging with clients, and delivering comprehensive event production and post-event activities. Interns will have the opportunity to work on an array of events including experiential marketing campaigns, brand activations, festivals, fundraising activities, corporate functions, community partnerships, and more. They will also gain valuable experience in tenant event planning, conference center rental coordination, and tenant services.
The Marketing and Events Intern will support several key functions such as event and sales tracking, document management including license agreements and insurance, coordination of site maps and timelines, client relationship management, and marketing pre- and post-event activities including social media content creation and updating digital platforms. During events, this intern will capture photos and videos to facilitate live social media posting and post-event recaps.
This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, outstanding organizational abilities, and an aptitude for multitasking in a fast-paced environment. The intern must be capable of working well under pressure, anticipating project needs, prioritizing workload efficiently, and meeting deadlines. A passion for special events, customer service excellence, and representing the Zeller brand professionally are essential qualities for this role.
The internship is a part-time commitment with a maximum of 30 hours per week, offering compensation at an hourly rate of $18 to $20. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in marketing, event management, and urban venue operations at a notable Chicago landmark.
