The Assistant Operations Manager role at Market of Choice Central Kitchen is a pivotal leadership position within this fast-paced, creative food production environment. In this role, the Assistant Operations Manager collaborates closely with the Operations Manager and Chef to ensure timely and efficient order production. Inventory control and ordering of fresh, frozen, and sundry products are also core responsibilities, requiring attention to detail and organizational skills. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food production or management preferred
  • Current Food Handler's Card or willingness to obtain one prior to employment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings or weekends as needed
  • Ability to follow standard recipes and safety food programs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Assist with the supervision, organization, and management of all kitchen teammates
  • Work directly with the Operations Manager and Chef to ensure timely order production
  • Make hiring, promotional, transfer, disciplinary, and termination recommendations
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory of fresh, frozen, and sundry products for the department
  • Train new teammates
  • Supervise production to ensure it meets Market of Choice quality standards
  • Oversee operations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food production, packaging, and distribution
  • Maintain positive relations with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Ensure health and safety sanitation requirements are met
