Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of similar or related experience
  • Completion or encouragement of Sanitation (Food Safety) courses
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly
  • Capacity to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Visual ability including vision from less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet, color vision, depth perception, and field of vision
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, cool, and sometimes noisy environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals and moving equipment
  • Ability to adhere to food safety guidelines and company policies
  • Must be punctual and reliable

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Ability to file, post, and mail materials

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Team-oriented with professionalism
  • Ability to manage inventory and oversee staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store
  • Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions, performing other tasks to enhance shopping experience
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking orders
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
  • Checks orders for the day and sets up a timeline and production schedule
  • Reviews daily production list with department employees and assigns tasks for completion
  • Ensures food display case product is rotated and replenished
  • Scans Market Grille area for items and issues such as cleanliness or safety and assigns tasks
  • Ensures proper staffing levels
  • Monitors schedule and overtime
  • Controls inventory through constant monitoring
  • Keeps supply area clean and orderly
  • Rotates perishable products with every delivery
  • Handles catering contracts
  • Follows all food safety guidelines and ensures compliance
  • Handles and satisfies customer issues
  • Suggests ad items and reviews signage
  • Assists in monthly inventory and invoicing
  • Practices proper sanitation and adheres to company policies
  • Works closely with restaurant and service staff
  • Reports timely to work
  • Assumes management duties in absence of Department Manager
  • Writes schedules and calculates production amounts
  • Trains employees
  • Orders all products and supplies
  • Understands and performs all department duties
  • Assists in other store areas as needed
  • Performs other job related duties
  • Instructs, assigns, reviews and plans work of others
  • Maintains standards and allocates personnel
