Job Description

We are Sonesta International Hotels, the 8th largest hotel company in the United States, with a dynamic and rapidly growing presence. Our company is an epic blend of full-service and focused hotels strategically located in major cities across the nation, offering a uniquely diverse portfolio of owned, managed, and franchised properties. With over 1000 properties in eight countries and counting, Sonesta is widely recognized for its commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. We pride ourselves on cultivating a human-centered approach to hospitality, where we serve our guests with passion, loyalty, and purpose. Our mission is deeply rooted in providing quality, value, and memorable experiences to every guest at every stay, evidencing our motto, "Together We Thrive." This commitment has propelled Sonesta to the forefront of the hospitality industry, combining operational excellence with a personal touch that truly connects with guests.

The role of Market Director of Sales (MDOS) at Sonesta is a pivotal leadership position responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies for multiple hotels within the same market, specifically Sonesta ES Suites Torrance and Sonesta Select Torrance. This role is integral to achieving joint occupancy, average daily rate, and market share goals by spearheading tactical revenue generation plans tailored to each hotel's unique positioning and the overall market conditions. This position requires managing and mentoring several Sales Managers who represent both individual hotels and the combined enterprise, enabling alignment with Sonesta’s broader marketing, revenue management, and global sales goals. The Market Director of Sales plays a strategic role in adapting national brand initiatives to meet local market needs, ensuring a nimble response to competitor activity and market opportunities. Beyond direct sales responsibilities, the MDOS is a key player in fostering cross-functional cooperation with hotel departments and community relations, maintaining strong client and community partnerships, and providing regular reporting on sales performance. With a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $115,000, this exempt position demands a proven leader with extensive hospitality sales experience and the ability to influence revenue growth while upholding Sonesta’s world-class service standards. The successful candidate will deliver not just on financial targets but also on our promise of Sonesta Service excellence in every guest and client interaction.
