Job Description

The position being offered is for a Food Runner within the restaurant team, supporting both the Outlet Manager and restaurant servers. The key responsibility of this role is to maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment and provide guests with attentive, prompt, and friendly service. This role involves a variety of tasks including clearing tables quickly, resetting service ware, delivering beverages, bread, and butter, ensuring station cleanliness and proper stocking throughout all meal periods. Additionally, the Food Runner is responsible for transporting dirty tableware to the dishwashing area for sanitation and maintaining compliance with attendance procedures. This is an essential support role designed to enhance the dining experience by facilitating the seamless flow of service and helping uphold Chateau Elan’s reputation for outstanding guest care. The role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the physical capability to handle the demands of transporting equipment and tableware throughout the restaurant. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a food service or hospitality environment preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • commitment to excellent guest service

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
  • ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 150 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc

Job Duties

  • Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting
  • promptly and consistently reset all service ware
  • maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen, and condiments
  • serve guests with beverages, bread, and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary
  • transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning
  • comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • perform any other job-related duties as assigned
