The Sous Chef position at Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis is a pivotal role within the kitchen department, situated under the leadership of the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef. This junior management position is integral to the seamless operation of the Mara Restaurant Kitchen. The Sous Chef acts as a liaison between the head chefs and kitchen staff, assisting in maintaining high culinary standards and consistency across menu offerings. Responsibilities include not only cooking and preparing diverse menu options but also managing inventory, overseeing kitchen safety and sanitation, training culinary staff, and ensuring efficient production flow. Furthermore, the Sous Chef plays an important role in budget management and resource allocation. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Formal training from culinary arts program preferred
- 3-5 years of culinary experience
- Previous experience in junior culinary management or as a Sous Chef
- Food Safe Certified
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Fluency in English
- Legal work authorization in the United States
- Flexible schedule including availability to work weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Formal training from culinary arts program
- 3-5 years of culinary experience
- Previous experience as Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
- Experience in various food service environments
- Food Safe Certified
- Experience working with computers

Job Duties
- Supervise the entire culinary team of the dining outlet
- Assist with creating menu recipes, creating specials, and completion of inventory orders
- Run the line, and entire kitchen in the absence of the Sous Chef
- Lead the charge on all standards, train employees on standards and menus, recipes, and cooking procedures
