Located within the Gas Services division, this role contributes to the delivery of low-emission power generation solutions through servicing and decarbonization efforts. The Alloy Saw Operator position involves operating an alloy saw in accordance with production specifications to produce precise charge weights and organize incoming alloys by type. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate processing of materials and proper inventory management. The operator will also become certified to operate forklifts and hoists/cranes, including grinders, and will perform welding duties as necessary. Adhering to GSP standards, the operator will be responsible for tasks such as XRS gun inspection, ingot chamfering, alloy consumption monitoring, and maintaining a safe work area with controlled crane operations. Effective communication regarding alloy needs and proficiency with the Mercury system is essential.

This role offers on-the-job cross-training and requires flexibility to undertake additional duties as directed by supervisors. The position demands physical capability for lifting and moving various weights regularly and necessitates good vision attributes like close and peripheral vision and depth perception. The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and be able to comply with export control laws, including obtaining an export license where required. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • able to perform math functions and read instructions in English or blueprints
  • regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • legally authorized for employment in the United States without employer-sponsored work authorization
  • able to work with export-controlled technology in compliance with U S export control law and able to obtain necessary export license

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • welding experience or training preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively and use computer systems
  • knowledge of safety standards and procedures

Job Duties

  • Operate alloy saw according to production specifications to produce correct charge weights
  • organize incoming alloy by type and keep the area clean
  • become forklift certified and operate hoist/crane and grinder
