Established in 2008 as a subsidiary of Kura Sushi, Inc., this restaurant group traces its heritage back to the opening of the first location in Osaka, Japan, in 1977. Since then, the Kura Corporation has grown substantially, boasting over 540 locations across Japan, Taiwan, and the United States. Kura Sushi USA combines advanced technology with premium ingredients and affordable prices to provide customers a unique and enjoyable revolving sushi dining experience. The company is committed to inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, welcoming applicants and employees regardless of gender, age, race, disability, veteran status, or other protected categories. They emphasize pay transparency and competitive compensation, offering hourly rates for their positions that reflect experience and qualifications, adhering also to local wage and hour laws.
The role of Assistant Manager at Kura Sushi USA is a highly valued leadership position within the restaurant team. Assistant Managers are hands-on leaders who work directly alongside staff to ensure the delivery of fresh, tasty food and an excellent guest experience at all times. The position requires strong organizational and time-management skills, combined with a keen ability to analyze daily operations and guest service demands. Assistant Managers are passionate mentors and developers of their team members and strictly uphold company policies and procedures. They embody teamwork and go above and beyond to support both employees and guests. The role demands flexibility in scheduling, including availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Starting pay for this position is $28 per hour, equivalent to approximately $58,240 annually, with competitive benefits included.
Paid training for this Assistant Manager role is intensive and includes a 12-16 week program held at an existing Kura Sushi location in another state, ensuring thorough preparation in the brand's unique operational style and culture. This investment in training underlines the company’s strong commitment to its employees’ success and career growth. Kura Sushi values a supportive work environment and offers a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid time off, bonus opportunities, meal discounts, flexible scheduling, and more. They place a strong focus on promotion from within and encourage team members to grow their careers alongside the restaurant’s expansion. Additionally, they offer a generous employee referral program, allowing staff to earn rewards for introducing friends and colleagues to the Kura Krew.
Joining Kura Sushi means becoming part of a vibrant and forward-thinking team passionate about food, culture, and customer experience. If you are a motivated, organized, and dedicated leader interested in contributing to a dynamic, tech-savvy restaurant brand, the Assistant Manager position at Kura Sushi presents an excellent opportunity to advance your career in the hospitality industry while working with a company that values diversity, innovation, and employee development.
