The Manager role at Buddy's is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all operational facets within a unit to drive guest satisfaction and profitability. This is a full-time role with an expectation to work a minimum of 5 days or 50 hours per week, ensuring continuous support to staff and excellence in the dining experience. As a Manager, you will uphold Buddy's standards for customer service, product quality, cleanliness, and team development through daily operations. An essential component of this role is effective communication both up and down the management chain facilitating enterprise growth and problem resolution.
Managers oversee daily decision-making processes, supervise staff training and scheduling, and foster a positive and productive workplace environment. They are responsible for labor management, cash handling procedures, and executing pre-shift briefings to prepare teams for success. The position involves completing management accounting reports as directed by the General Manager, analyzing sales and labor metrics to identify operational improvement opportunities, and ensuring compliance with all Buddy's policies and safety regulations.
Leadership qualities are essential, as the Manager participates in hiring, staff evaluations, and discipline, ensuring alignment with Buddy's standards and enhancing team morale and productivity. They handle guest interactions thoughtfully, approve promotions and credits, and ensure billing accuracy for deliveries. Job Requirements
- Must be able to articulate clearly and listen attentively to employees and guests
- Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift
- Must be able to reach, lift and bend
- Ability to work with kitchen equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a general management role in a full-service restaurant
- Proficient in leadership, communication, staff mentoring and development, and quality of operations
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of staff with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of employment law and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent customer service and critical thinking skills
- Solid computer skills
Job Duties
- Oversee all unit operations during scheduled shifts including daily decision making, training and staff support, guest interaction, scheduling while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
- Manage staff labor throughout each shift by monitoring breaks and ensuring all checkout and cash handling procedures
- Execute daily staff pre-shift briefings on all scheduled shifts
- Provide continuous directions for staff members to ensure operational and procedural measures
- Complete all Manager accounting reports as instructed by General Manager
- Monitor and identify all unit sales and labor reports
- Identify operational opportunities by creating and implementing plans to address department areas and store goals
- Supervise that all line checks are accurate throughout all shifts
- Foster a positive working relationship with all staff members to build maximum employee morale, productivity, and development
- Demonstrate a safe work environment to reduce the risk of injuries and accidents
- Oversee all deliveries to confirm products and billing accuracy
- Promote a positive Buddy’s experience for all guests
- Approve all unit comps, promos, credits, and guest requests
- Assist with staff hiring, training, and scheduling
- Ensure proper usage of communication tools such as pre-shifts, Red Book, evaluations, documenting conversations for record
- Conduct employee reviews and evaluations
- Provide employees with positive and constructive feedback and implement appropriate disciplinary action when necessary
- Ensure all employees adhere to Buddy’s uniform policy and standards
