The city government plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for its citizens by maintaining public spaces, organizing community events, and ensuring sustainable growth. The Parks and Recreation Department is a cornerstone of this commitment, managing hundreds of parks, athletic fields, and recreational facilities that serve as social, cultural, and environmental assets for the community.
The Parks Manager position within the City of Dallas offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the management, operation, and strategic development of park facilities and related community events. This role is essential for overseeing the care, use, and continuous improvement of parks, as well as managing the budget and staff that support these services. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing high-profile events, while simultaneously enhancing public engagement and community outreach initiatives. The job requires strong leadership capabilities, expertise in public administration, and the ability to foster partnerships that enrich community life.

Additionally, the manager will play a key role in digital communication strategies, including content oversight for event-related information on websites and managing social media outreach to raise the profile of parks programs and initiatives. This position demands someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintaining detailed records and preparing comprehensive reports to communicate effectively with city leadership, stakeholders, media partners, and the public.
Candidates for this role should possess extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to public park management, along with strong skills in event planning, facility management, and team supervision. Critical to success in this position is the ability to devise innovative administrative solutions, manage budgets effectively, and communicate clearly at all organizational levels. The Parks Manager will have a direct impact on strengthening Dallas's reputation as a city that values outdoor spaces and community engagement.
With a starting salary range from $81,120 to $101,400, depending on qualifications, and being a full-time position, this role offers competitive compensation alongside the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the community.
