Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in event management, communications, nonprofit management, marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of experience in event planning, fundraising, or community outreach preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Experience coordinating volunteers
- Comfort with basic financial record-keeping and reconciliation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with event or donor management platforms such as Square or Bloomerang preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the event calendar

Job Duties
- Manages all agency special events from start to finish, including Spring Wine Mixer, Cruisin' for a Cause, Turkey Trot, Holiday Gift Wrap Booth, and other fundraising events
- Creates new agency special events and fundraisers with input from Director, Development and Foundation Events Committee
- Attends and gives updates at quarterly Foundation Events Committee meetings
- Works with vendors, venues, and volunteers to manage all aspects of special events
- Coordinates budget management and fundraising strategies
- Recruits, trains, and leads volunteers for event execution
- Represents The Arc Ontario at community outreach events to build partnerships
